    I have a question about my 17″ dell 17 [isn't that ironic X D]—

I feel that my graphics card is lacking severely, and I wanted to know which graphics cards my computer is compatible with…

[and I wouldn't mind upgrading my ram while I'm at it, though i will be saving up for a new processor later on, but hey, I'm not made of cash... anyway, can someone help me out with my upgrading dilemmas?]

The new studio lines eliminated fingerprint reader, and some other things that proved to be problematic, this video was more than a year old

How do you get the finger print reader? I don’t see it as an option from Dell.

Can you tell me the difference if I buy one at walmart verses dell. They also have studio 17 and 17.3

If you want to sell computers, get someone who knows how to inflect a little…just a wee bit would make people a little more interested. This dude sounds like he wants to take a nap when he talks about these things.

    Wow, this is riveting!

i love my stpid 17 although it isnt very protable it has no problems running and extremely fast for all round uses

  14. om48 on March 14th, 2010

    yes im sure of it

  15. blade9792000 on March 14th, 2010

Yes i own the 15 and 17 windows 7 does come with it now. you can go on dells website to customized what you want on it such as a video card. the 15 i use for work cause it is portible. but if you are looking for a desktop replacment the 17 is the way to go. personally i like my 17 better.

  16. PowerSprinter on March 14th, 2010

yes, windows 7 comes on the 17 inch. i am using the 17 inch right now. and i have to say, the screen is amazing. i mean it really is gorgous.
is it worth the 300 extra dollars?

well that depends. if you are gonna use it to watch movies/pictures and edit them then i would say yes. watching movies looks incredible on it

it is a little awkward carrying around, but it isnt that heavy

    i love it.

  17. tscjigga on March 14th, 2010

    get 15 inch.

17 inch is bulky and it doesnt have the proper resolution. right now dell is only offering 900p rather than the conventional 1920×1200 option

    @noobleskthx

I am about to buy a studio 17 (I think) been tossing up between the 15 and the 17. Do you know if I can get Window’s 7 on the 17. Cause looking at the Australian Dell web site it seems to come with the 15 and “new 17″. Is the new 17 worth an extra 300 bucks?

  19. stevostevie on March 14th, 2010

    That’s alot of laptops..

  20. BlackElitePwnage on March 14th, 2010

I agree. Dell pwns. However I nearly fried my dell. It was very lucky it survived.

  21. KNOWER96 on March 14th, 2010

Im pretty sure that they have the same specs,
but i would go for Dell studio 17.

  22. Usul573 on March 14th, 2010

They can do same processors and same RAM, though the 17 can do a better graphics card, double hard drives, and is heavier, bigger screen and keyboard with number pad.

  23. DashFlux on March 14th, 2010

IF you;re someone that travels alot i would recommend you get the S15 since its smaller and and more portable with a longer lasting battery but if you just sit back and use up more computer power get the S17 with the bigger/easier to see screen, DDR3 memory and such so its more powerful but takes a little bit more of battery life. =)

  24. Caboose93o0 on March 14th, 2010

you can buy a thing that goes under your dell that supposedly cools it down

  25. KillrDeth on March 14th, 2010

Is the 15 and 17 the same…if not which one is better cause im getting a laptop this christmas and i need to find a good lap top around the $800 range.
