At my school, when they took away cell phones they went thru pictures and texts and if there was alcohol pics or sex pics..they tried to get them in trouble. but this is beyond disgusting, illegal and ick just why. and whats with the “homework” excuse.

it happens because people dont think about it.. well me I would simply reinstall the os with my own copy encypt the hardrive and install a good firewall to block them.. if my kid had to have a computer Id buy it my self and image it so they cant add anything to it without wipeing the drive every reboot..

I change clothes in front of my open laptop. My laptop is open in my room, I get up walk back to my clothes and change. I know thats just so weird!

I’m not sure about anyone else, but I don’t change clothes in front of my OPEN laptop.

This is pretty disgusting nonetheless. I am happy I go to a different high school. xD

I live near Lower Merion, and seriously, it’s ridiculous. So glad I don’t go there… !

When I was in seventh grade everyone in my class was loaned a laptop for the school year (to take home and use at school) And it was a project to see if using them helped our schooling.
But nothing fucked up like this happened. If they really wanted to check if they were doing homework, they would scan the internet history.

just goes to show that Pedo’s are running the schools, think about the spying they do that no one has found out about yet

  11. enigmatically on March 10th, 2010

most likely the pervs were using it to spy on horny teens who were masturbating to online porn or having cybersex with their webcams. there’s no other reason why they’d install such a “feature”, checking on “homework” my ass.

I am a student at lower merion high school, the other high school in the district. This whole story is here is very little conclusive information known. the school district only activated the webcam because blake robbins STOLE the laptop. he never paid the insurance so he was illegally keeping it at his home.

p.s. no one was spied in stages of dress or undress. there was an FBI investigation, and nothing of this sort was found. RELAX WITH YOUR ONE TRACK MINDS EVERYBODY

I read some more about this. Apparently, all the laptops had an anti-theft program installed, which allowed administrators to remotely turn on the camera and take pictures or video of whoever is holding the laptop. A pretty good idea when you are lending laptops to an entire school, and don’t want them to get stolen. So where did it get wrong? Well, students noticed the cameras turning on very often. So some creepy admin was using the anti-theft feature to spy on the teens. Sick!

These motherfokers need to get a life for violating preteen sluts freedoms!!!

  17. NTCM13 on March 10th, 2010

he’s right. this is bullshit. if i were one of the students, all of the administrators would have a visit from me.

  19. tommysch on March 10th, 2010

    Sue everybody in sight.

  20. tommysch on March 10th, 2010

    @CommandoDude

That would be fun, so we can use all that ammo we have been stacking for the past decade.

  21. victor190779 on March 10th, 2010

Dont you get it: They are using a feature in Macbooks…developed by a private company. Now, how often do you thinks that happen?

  22. musicismyfavorite777 on March 10th, 2010

    Messed up… wow…

  23. nniuq25 on March 10th, 2010

    Just close the fucking laptop

  24. CommandoDude on March 11th, 2010

This is an abuse of an authoritative position. No institution has the right to invade your privacy. Not even the GOVERNMENT.

Chek is exactly right. If this becomes acceptable, nobody will be safe. Things like this are the beginnings of a Police State.

    No. No. No. NO.

Why are you so angry Mr. Young Turk? Have you been polishing your helmet in front of your laptop again??
